About Me
Hi, I'm Jess!
Hi, I’m Jess — a Speech Pathologist, Audiologist and Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC/Possums) practitioner, dedicated to empowering confident, connected beginnings for every family during their child's first three years of life.
When my first son was born, I experienced firsthand the joy, uncertainty, challenges and deep transformation of those early months. As a mum with hearing loss, I also became more aware of how little integrated support there is out there for parents navigating communication differences with their children.
Navigating parenthood with my two boys has completely changed my life, including my professional direction. I have a passion to support families to find the joy, understanding and connection in early parenthood. To me, clinical care isn’t just about protocols and processes — it’s about people, and creating opportunities for empowerment, support and growth.
During maternity leave with my second son, I completed the Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC/Possums) Accreditation pathway, hoping to learn more about how to support families with an evidence-based understanding of infant feeding, sleep, infant cry-fuss problems, perinatal mental health and parent & infant wellbeing. I’m currently undertaking further formal training in lactation to complement my existing scope as a Speech Pathologist and NDC Practitioner. Underpinning all of my work with families is a deep commitment to helping parents and children find the joy in growing up together.
The support I provide may include, but is not limited to:
Infant feeding support, using NDC frameworks to nurture safe, effective, and responsive breastfeeding, bottle feeding and intro to solids.
Assessment and intervention for children aged 0-3 years with speech/language delays, differences or concerns, using family-centred care principles.
Supporting parents who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing antenatally as they plan to welcome a baby, ensuring they feel prepared and informed from the very beginning.
Supporting families whose babies have been diagnosed with hearing loss, helping them navigate early communication and bonding with clarity and confidence.
Helping your baby become a good communicator - practical help for parents wanting to support their baby's early speech and language development.
Supporting parents with babies who are vulnerable or "at-risk" of developmental differences and delays related to hearing, communication, speech/language or feeding.
I am a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist (MSPA, CPSP), Accredited Audiologist (AAudA) and NDC Practitioner.
