Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) and other digital tools to reduce administrative workload and support the delivery of high-quality clinical care. This may include assisting with clinical notes and reports, creating therapy or educational resources, summarising information, reviewing research, and supporting administrative tasks.
AI is used as a support tool and does not replace clinical judgement. Your clinician remains responsible for reviewing AI-assisted content for accuracy and appropriateness and for all assessment, diagnosis, recommendations and clinical decisions.
We take reasonable steps to protect client privacy and confidentiality when using AI, including de-identifying information and considering the privacy and security practices of the tools we use. We do not provide client information for the purpose of training general-purpose AI models.
If an AI tool will record, transcribe or process the content of a clinical appointment, we will explain its use and seek consent where required. You may decline recording or AI-assisted transcription without affecting your access to our services.
Our use of AI is guided by applicable Australian privacy requirements and relevant professional and ethical standards, including guidance from Speech Pathology Australia and Audiology Australia. AI does not change our professional responsibility for the care we provide.
If you have questions or concerns about how AI may be used in your care, please contact us.
